A retired architect, Tony has been painting most of his life. In 2008 he renovated one of the outbuildings and converted it into a dedicated painting studio. Painting in several media, including watercolour, acrylic and oil, his love and knowledge of buildings during his career has led to an extensive and eclectic mix of paintings of buildings, especially churches and cathedrals. More recently boats and sailing have featured more in his Devon life, and this has been reflected in the painting of coastline and seascape scenes.

His paintings are on display all around Black Ness Cottage and most can be bought by guests should they want a reminder of their stay.  Here's just a small selection:
